Presentations and Publications
Oral Presentations
The conference is planning to have a hybrid format where oral presenters and attendees can either participate live at the Delft University conference hall (Aula Building) or online through Conference Compass. As we anticipate that travel from overseas may still be difficult at the time of the conference we have scheduled the oral presentations in a time zone convenient to the presenters. In the morning (UTC +1) sessions we have the presentations from Asia, Australia and New Zealand) and at the end of the day the presentations from North and South America. This minimizes the time difference and enables presenters to interact with other conference participants at the time of their presentation. The preliminary schedule of the oral presentations will be available soon.
The oral presentation will be 15 minutes in length with an additional 5 minutes reserved for questions. Online oral presentations can be pre-recorded or presented interactively, where the presenter controls the pre-uploaded slides. In both cases the presenter is expected to be available at the scheduled time of the presentation to answer questions and interact with the audience after the presentation.
Poster Presentations
In contrast to the oral presentations the poster presentations are only planned to be online through Conference Compass. Poster sessions are scheduled during the morning coffee break, lunch, the afternoon coffeebreak and between 5-6 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During the poster session attendees can watch the individual posters online and discuss one on one with the poster presenter. A maximum of 15 people will be able to enter the poster presentation at any one time to facilitate the interaction. The poster presentations will be in the form of 1 minute video pitches, which gives the presenters the opportunity to use animations. The preliminary schedule of the poster presentations will be available soon.
Both a poster pitch and poster will be uploaded prior to the start of the conference.
Preparations
The presenters of both the posters and online oral presentations will be contacted 4 weeks before the conference to assist in making a pre-recording of their 1 minute poster pitch and 15 minute oral presentation respectively, and the uploading of presentations.
Papers
The submission of conference papers for both posters and oral presenters is optional. There are three options: 1) No conference paper; 2) A paper in the online conference proceedings; 3) submission of your paper to MDPI Journal Water. These options are available to both the oral and poster presenters of the conference. In case of option 2 the local organizing committee will review the manuscripts prior to publication in the proceedings. This will be free of cost. In case of submission to MDPI Journal Water the manuscript will be formally reviewed by external referees where the LOC acts as editors for a dedicated special issue. Once published these papers are indexed and open access. The APC (Article Processing Costs) for the accepted papers will be 2000 Swiss Francs minus a 20% discount, to be borne by the author(s).
